Grichuck was the Angels' first round pick in the 2009 First Year Player Draft out of Lamar Consolidated HS in Rosenberg TX, and split time last season between the Kernels and AZL Angels. In 52 games with the Kernels, he hit .292 with 7 HR and 36 RBI. He began the season on the DL after an off-season injury and just finished a rehab stint with the AZL Angels.
Harris was a member of the Kernels 2011 Opening Day Roster and hit .229 with 8 HR and 35 RBI in 83 games for the Kernels. The Angels signed Harris as a non-drafted free agent out of Pepperdine University and this is his first season in professional baseball.
Grichuk will join the Kernels in Fort Wayne and be available for tonight's 6:05 pm game with the Tin Caps. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster stands at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with one player currently on the disabled list.
The Kernels begin a nine game, 10-day road trip tonight in Fort Wayne. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, July 30th against the Beloit Snappers.
